It has been a month of community supporting community. On Saturday 10 May Qld Spinners Weavers and Fibre Artists held their Open Day where visitors came to support local artists and as always, artists came to support other artists in the display of the beautifully handmade. Exquisite fashions in felt by Pipstar Fibrearts, for example made a great impact – Just need a slightly colder Winter to show them off.
In a timely support for people experiencing homelessness, we’re helping to raise funds for the “ Vinnies CEO Sleepout Appeal” on Sunday, June 1 we’re offering a basket making session to guests at “A Beautiful Day Out” Fundraising event, organised by Mel of 18 Degrees Film Production. (see attached flyer) “offering a soul-nourishing day in the country filled with creativity, indulgence and heart. Set in the charming Pullenvale Hall with sweeping views of the hills, this special experience includes: a preserving & fermenting workshop, the basket weaving workshop and a sumptuous high tea lunch with bubbles. Artisan gifts will also be available for purchase.”’
Last year, Mel raised over $10,000. We’re proud and excited to be included in the event
